Hello guys, I have a new recipe from my book "1001 recipe and recipe" for you today and it is, Zlabia I hope you like it.

This is how the recipe looks like in the book.

And this video is to clarify the recipe thoroughly The ingredients for Zlabia are as follows: 3/4 cup warm water, mix 1 tbsp flour, 1/2 tsp sugar and 1 tsp yeast mix well Cover them using plastic wrap and leave it till the portion doubles for about 20-25 minutes mix in another bowl 1/2 cup starch, 1/2 cup, using whisk Add 1/4 tsp salt and we can add drops of yellow food coloring, it is "optional", i am not adding it.

Add the yeast mixture we've prepared, mix until the mixture becomes soft Then cover it with plastic wrap, leave it for about 30 minutes.

like and share if you like the video and subscribe to see more of my cooking videos.

After 30 minutes, remove the plastic wrap and it looks like it is fermented.

This is an important step, mix it well to get rid of all of the air bubbles because when we fry the pieces, it will still be visible there and will give an unwanted texture.

The dough looks really rubbery Prepare the oil now, it has to be heated on 350F, 180C I used a ketchup bottle for the dough, you can use any kind of bottle or even Decorating bag.

We make the dough looks like a filled rounded window Leave it until it fries and becomes stable, then flip it on to the other side when it is golden from both sides Put it into cold sugar syrup right away We can try and see how the first piece looks like and make the other ones accordingly The oil has to be hot on a medium heat if you are using gas stove and you cannot control the temp.

Cover them with sugar syrup.

To make it, mix 2 cups sugar and 1 1/4 cup water in a pot on medium heat, after 7 minutes, put it away.

then add 1 tsp lemon juice I always like to use corn syrup rather than lemon juice because lemon gives a sour taste Corn syrup gives the sugar syrup a longer validation date and doesn't give a sour taste So if corn syrup is available, use it As you can see, Zalabia pieces are somewhat see through and very crunchy This is one of the best Zalabia recipes I've ever made I tried many, but this one was the most practical and the best It looks gold and clear and crunchy A way to know if the recipe is good for Zalabia would be that when you put it in the sugar syrup, it turns to kind of transparent and clear.

That goes back to the fact that the dough is light and the inside is empty Complete the rest the same way, you can add 2 or 3 pieces The oil has to be deep I recommend trying it because of its amazing taste and better than the ones sold in market At least the oil is much cleaner and it is homemade You can find ingredients and methods used in the description box very easily :) My friends, If you forgot to like, share and subscribe, you can do that now And don't forget to hit the notification bell to be notified for future videos.

If you have any comments, concerns or questions, you can leave them in the comments section right down below and i will get back to you Your support and you sharing videos, helps me a lot to continue posting and making cooking videos present it on a plate and decorate it with crushed pistachios.

You can add any flavor you like to the sugar syrup, like cardamom, flower water, rose water, cinnamon, anything.

I am sure that once you make it and try it, You'll say just like what I always say, "Mmmm ya habibi".
